Senior Front End Developer

Role Overview

Elegant Seagulls, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Senior Front-End Developer (remote) to join our development team in delivering enterprise level web products. As a Senior Front-End Developer, you will collaborate with designers, developers, and project managers to build high-quality websites and applications.

You’ll work primarily with React, as well as other contemporary JavaScript frameworks, and integrate with headless CMSs to create flexible, content-driven experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain customer-facing websites and web applications using React, Vue, and other modern JavaScript frameworks.

  • Architect reusable, scalable UI components and ensure accessibility best practices. Integrate headless CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, Sanity, Kontent.ai), enabling clients to manage content efficiently.

  • Collaborate with designers to translate designs into responsive, user-friendly interfaces.

  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

  • Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end technologies and trends.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in front-end development

  • Strong proficiency in React (or extensive experience with Vue, Svelte, or another modern framework with a willingness to work in React).

  • JavaScript/TypeScript expertise with an understanding of ES6+ features and best practices.

  • Headless CMS experience with a proven track record of integrating and working with CMS platforms such as Contentful, Sanity, or others.

  • Deep knowledge of semantic HTML, modern CSS (SCSS, Tailwind, CSS-in-JS), and responsive design principles.

  • Familiarity with Next.js or other server-side rendering frameworks.

  • Understanding of accessibility (WCAG), performance optimization, and SEO best practices.

  • Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and modern development tooling (Vite, Webpack, Babel, etc.).

  • Knowledge of API consumption patterns, including REST and GraphQL.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven agency environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and desire to make industry-leading work.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with GSAP, WebGL, Framer Motion, or other animation libraries.

  • Familiarity with backend technologies like Node.js or serverless functions.

  • Basic knowledge of Netlify, Vercel, Azure, or AWS for hosting and deployment.
